The Vice Chancellor of University of Benin, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami, visited the RECIRCULATE and ACTUATE projects on Monday 7th June 2021. The Vice Chancellor received a first-hand update and on-the-spot assessment of both projects. She was accompanied by the principal officers Professor David Nosakhare Izekor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of University of Benin; Dr Victor Imagbe, the University Bursar and Dr Luke Obasuyi, the University Librarian and the University public relations officer, Dr Benedicta Ehanire.
The Vice Chancellor and her team were welcomed by the UNIBEN RECIRCULATE & ACTUATE team led by the UNIBEN RECIRCULATE principal investigator Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye. Professor Ezemonye provided an overview of both projects and highlighted the objectives and milestones reached. He also took the Vice Chancellor and her management team on a guided tour of the ACTUATE Bio Digester Site while explaining the process of biogas production.
Prof. Ezemonye also introduced the UNIBEN RECIRCULATE WP4/ACTUATE members to the Vice Chancellor and her management team. They include: Prof. Chris Emokaro, Dr (Mrs) I. Obuekwe, Dr Mike Ajieh, Dr Cyprian Oshoma, Dr Andrew Amenaghawon, Dr Abraham Ogofure, Mrs. Valerie Edosa, Mr. Newton Ihoeghian , Mr. Wisdom Osayuki, Mr. Asemota Osaro, Mrs. Christiana Kosemani and Mr. Kingsley Okorie. They thanked the Vice Chancellor for consistently giving prompt attention to matters concerning both projects.
The Vice Chancellor expressed her profound gratitude to Professor Ezemonye and the RECIRCULATE/ACTUATE team for their efforts in achieving project objectives. She expressed optimism that the RECIRCULATE/ACTUATE members would form part of the future Nigerian youths who would solve the nation’s problems.
